TIPS FOR ARCHIVING CONTENT
Previous tutorial on setting up seperate Poser
"runtime" directories to keep it from becoming a huge
mess!
Poser content is complex you often need to check where ot find
the material setc, so always save a copy of the webpages and readme
in the folder where you save your content too, for ease of use
later on!
Also, always save pictures from webpages etc of your content
you have just got. This should then show in your "folder
icons", making it much easier to see roughly what your content
is about. This helps enormously when hunting for suitable content.
For example, say you are wanting to make an elven swordsman in
Poser, if all your Michael 4 folders have images of what the items
are, it shows on the folders, so you can see what's inside them
easily, so it's easy to sort out what you want to use!
Note, apps like Vue and Bryce have content libraries which show
images, so you don't really need to do that for them, unless you
wish to.

NOTES ON FILE SHARING ETC OF CONTENT:
Now, please, although many folk copy and distribute content without
permission on file sharing systems, please don't do it!
I am no lover of Big Business, Big Government and the atrocious
IP, DRM and other crap they are shoving down our throats currently,
ugh, but understand that the folk who make content are real
people just like you! What, you think we're Bono or bank execs?!
:P
For the love of Mike, please have some respect for the folk who
make content, no matter your views on such things, it upsets a
lot of them if they see their stuff being pirated. So, have some
respect for people who make the stuff you use, ok? :)
Or they may just stop making it...
I give away a lot of stuff frree because of my personal beliefs,
hey I wish all information and thus digital materials,
was free, but alas, that's not the way this stupid world works.
People need money to stay alive, to buy things to make more content
etc etc, and there's plenty of folk out there who don't share
out of principles, but because they are greedy, selfish dumbasses.
You think artists pull money out of their ass, or don't have feelings?
Artists who sell content to help keep themselves and their families
fed have every right to be angry at file sharers, even if I wish
all digital material was free, it's the other people's
feelings you have to consider and respect, as well as watch for
the douchebags who just abuse stuff and screw it up for all of
us.
I also sell some content to help pay for my art programs and content,
I don't like seeing my stuff being copied without my permission,
it's just plain bloody disrespectful, and dumb! Other artists
though it seriously upsets. And commercial content you do not
have permission to copy anyway (but you do have permission to
use in commercial projects when you have legitimately bought
it, usually)
If you can afford to pay for content, PAY FOR IT! I know poverty
sucks from personal experience, but if you have money to pay for
content, and don't...you're a cheapskate. Plenty of free stuff
out there if you look, as shown above. I'm not here to screw folk
over, I just want to help! :)
I'd love to give all my stuff away free, but as said, hey I need
money to help pay for all this, and also if I gave it away free,
the ones who rely on it to feed their KIDS would be put out.
I'm disabled, I rely on the generosity of the State to survive,
I'm not some rich kid, fyi.
Art, fantasy, science, history etc are my passion: honour, mercy,
love, truth and justice are my ideals...I'm a bloody walking anachronism,
lol.
I'm happy when folk use my images on my site for their desktops
anytime :)
But if they want to use my images for their sites they should
ask me first and only if it's not commercial useage (unless they
are Wizards of the Coast, lol! Hey I can hope...)
I NEVER let folk distribute my free models though, and many are
"fan art" and damn sure not for commercial use or any
distribution. Feel free to use them in your personal renders
though! :)
Art's for enjyoment and enlightenment, hence why I share that
which I have made myself, for free, but with limits, "enjoyment
and enlightenment" is what Life should be about, not being
a crass dickhead! ;)
Sorry for having to put this in, but people out there do need
to realize these kind of things :)

Poverty in material goods isn't the worst, it's poverty
of the spirit that's the worse, and it damn well sucks
for poor folks to keep seeking all the fancy, expensive geegaws
dangled in front of their faces all the time.
From a bit of ancient wisdom: Desire can never be sated, since
it can never be sated, it leads to frustration, frustration leads
to anger, anger leads to hate, and hate leads to violence.
That was written a long time before Yoda was created for Star
Wars, lol, where do you think he got his version of that pearl
of wisdom from? ;)
Dickens made a good point in "A Christmas Carol", the
Ghost of Christmas Present has two dreadful, spectral children
under his cape: the boy is Ignorance, the girl is Poverty, the
Ghost tells Scrooge "Fear the boy, more!",
very damn true! Ignorance prevents the understanding and knowledge
to fix things...hence I try and help people.
